While not wireless like some of 8BitDo’s other options, it does have more features. For instance, it comes with back paddles that you can remap for a little bit of an edge in certain games. It also features more of a Xbox-style design than the Xbox version of the Pro 2. Which is probably going to be more preferred for people who play games on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PCs. One thing worth clarifying is that this is both a wired and a wireless controller. While it’s designed for Xbox Series X|S and Windows and must be used by plugging it in to those systems, it can be used wirelessly with mobile devices running Android and iOS.
The 8BitDo Ultimate Wired Controller is perfect for Xbox Series X|S
This controller is officially licensed by Xbox so you can expect things to work as intended. Since it’s wired for console and PC use, it should also provide little to no latency for inputs. And if you’re worried about the cable being too short, you probably don’t have to be. The cable is 3 meters long which is about 9.9 feet. And that will be plenty long for many people’s living room console setups. Aside from the long cable and the two paddle buttons on the back, the controller also offers a profile button you can tap to switch profiles on the fly. You can store up to three custom profiles and use each one for specific types of games. What’s more, is you can customize and remap more than just the two back paddle buttons. Using the 8BitDo app, you can map any button the controller. And you can even adjust things like joystick and trigger sensitivity. The Ultimate Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S will launch May 31 in Black and White color schemes for $44.99. You can pre-order the controller starting today. 8BitDo Ultimate Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S
