Tipster reveals additional Galaxy Z Fold 3 tidbits

The source says that the under-display camera of the device won’t be as visible as we had feared. You’ll probably be able to see it when looking straight at it, but for the most part, you won’t notice it. There is a thin layer of display on top of it. He also said that the power / lock button is more prominent. It has more travel than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which is a good thing, for the most part. A fingerprint scanner will likely be included inside that power key.

It will be lighter than its predecessor

The last piece of information the source shared has to do with the phone’s weight. He said that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be 10 grams lighter than its predecessor. That means it will weigh 272 grams, as the Z Fold 2 weighs 282 grams. So, it will be quite heavy still, though that is to be expected considering its size. This is a foldable smartphone that comes with two displays. It essentially expands into a tablet. There’s only so much Samsung can do about its weight. All in all, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is shaping up to be a really compelling smartphone. Not only will it be sleeker, and more powerful than its predecessor, but it will cost less at launch. It will still be quite expensive though, of course.

The phone will launch tomorrow

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is coming tomorrow. Samsung announced its ‘Unpacked’ event for August 11. During that event, the company will announce not only the Z Fold 3, but also the Z Flip 3, Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, and Buds 2. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be the start of the show, for the most part. It will be the first foldable ever to support a stylus, not to mention it will be the first foldable to include an under-display camera.
