OnePlus has halted Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9 & 9 Pro
Do note that the update started rolling out to global variants of the phone, except for Europe. So, users in the US and India did start getting the update. If you already received the update, and are experiencing issues, you can either wait for a patch, or revert back to Android 11. In case you do that, though, you will lose all your data. So, what went wrong? Well, the update introduced all sorts of problems, it seems. Quite a few users pointed out the “glitchy, broken behavior” of the OS. No additional details were given out, though. That’s not the only thing people are upset about, though. Android 12 comes with OxygenOS 12, and OxygenOS 12 made some changes that pushed the UI closer to OPPO’s ColorOS.

This was kind of expected, as it was announced a while back. OxygenOS and ColorOS now have more in common than ever before. OPPO and OnePlus are sister companies, by the way, in case you weren’t aware. OnePlus, with OxygenOS 11, moved OxygenOS away from the stock Android design. That change did manage to upset some people, but not a lot. OxygenOS 12, on the other hand, seems to have had a much more significant influence. Still, some people love the changes, and that’s understandable. With every change you’ll get different reactions. OxygenOS 12 is not bad, by any means, bugs aside, but it’s not what people expect out of OxygenOS, it seems. We’re not sure when will OnePlus start rolling out OxygenOS 12 for the two devices again, but we’re expecting that the rollout will continue soon. The update should also land in Europe soon as well.
