The newest leak offers detailed hardware specifications of the 2022 Moto G Stylus, courtesy of an unnamed source cited by XDA. This phone is reportedly codenamed “Milan,” while the release timeframe isn’t available at the moment. According to the source, the new Moto G Stylus will launch with Android 11 out of the box. While it will receive the Android 12 update, future updates aren’t promised. But users can expect security updates every two months. It’s likely the Moto G Stylus will launch in several markets, including North America and Europe. However, there’s no confirmation of this yet. The Moto G Stylus (2022) appears pretty decent in the hardware department. It would reportedly feature a 6.78-inch LCD screen (2460×1080) with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device runs on last year’s MediaTek Helio G85 complemented by 4GB and 6GB RAM options. Storage is capped at 128GB, which shouldn’t be a problem thanks to the onboard microSD card slot.

Motorola will reportedly include a 3.5mm headphone jack with the Moto G Stylus (2022)

Since the smartphone is a mid-range offering, it would lack an under-display fingerprint scanner. Instead, the company will include a fingerprint scanner within the power key. There’s a 5,000mAh battery under the Moto G Stylus 2022 with a subpar 10W charging speed. As for the rear camera arrangement, the device would offer a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KJN1 sensor accompanied by an 8-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5K4H7 ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel GalaxyCore GC02M1 depth sensor. The front will include a solitary 16-megapixel selfie camera. While the hardware specs don’t inspire much confidence, the latest iteration of Moto G Stylus will offer a 3.5mm headphone jack. This is a feature unheard of among modern-day smartphones, so kudos to the Lenovo-owned company for including this. The Moto G Stylus would also offer a stylus in line with its predecessors. Considering the hardware on offer and the history of the series, it likely won’t be a Samsung S-Pen-style stylus. But it should be good enough for note-taking, sketching, or doodling on your smartphone. Features like dual-SIM and NFC support are reportedly missing from this upcoming Motorola mid-ranger. Considering that the 2021 iteration of the Moto G Stylus broke cover in January last year, it’s likely that we’re only a few days away from the 2022 variant’s launch.
