With Stadia on the other hand you will need to own the Stadia version specifically. But then again this is nothing new. And if you’re a long-time subscriber of Stadia you already knew this. CD Projekt Red hasn’t announced an official release date for the expansion. Just that it will be sometime in 2023. During the livestream on Twitch however, the studio did say that it hopes to have the game out sooner rather than later. So perhaps CDPR is shooting for a release in the first half of the year. Maybe sooner. At least fans can hope.
The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion should be on GeForce NOW the same day as PC and console
With the original release of the game, the Stadia version was available right at launch time in parity with other platforms. Which meant Stadia players had access at the exact same time as PC and console players. While not mentioned, it seems reasonable that CDPR will do the same thing for the upcoming expansion.
Enjoy patch 1.6 today with new content
2023 is a bit of a wait and the wait for the expansion could be even longer as it may be further into the year. So to tide people over a bit, CDPR has released patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077 today which introduces a wide array of new content for players. This includes a collaboration event with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – an upcoming anime based on the game hitting Netflix this month. That collaboration introduces a few new missions. So you might want to dive back into Night City and check those out, choom! There’s also new weapons to acquire, an adorable cat named Nibbles who you can insert into all of your photo mode pictures, and best of all, cross-progression. Though this feature doesn’t seem to be compatible with Stadia. All of the playable content is available now since CDPR pushed the 1.6 update earlier this morning right after the stream. You can also read the full patch notes on the update here if you want to know every little detail.
