The exact Galaxy Z Fold 4 weight says the device will weight 17 grams less than its predecessor
For comparison’s sake, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 weighs 271 grams. That is a 17-gram difference, which is not negligible, especially considering these are heavyweight devices we’re talking about. How is this possible, considering that the displays won’t exactly be smaller? Well, it’s probably due to the hinge change. The Galaxy Z Fold 4’s hinge will be considerably thinner than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. There could, of course, be other reasons, mainly display-related. These are great news for sure, and quite a feat by Samsung. The OPPO Find N, for example, weighs 271 grams, and it’s considerably smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has been leaking out for a while now. Thanks to CAD-based renders we know what the device will look like, while its specifications also surfaced quite recently.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will fuel the device in all markets
We’re looking at quite a powerful smartphone as well. Its specs are spearheaded by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, Qualcomm’s brand new flagship. This chip does offer better performance, and considerably better power consumption. On top of that, it’s also expected to offer better thermals. It’s made by TSMC, by the way. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will utilize this processor in all regions, by the way. That is also something Ice Universe confirmed. The rest of its specs are also high-end. You can expect it to offer the same display size as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but its displays will be slightly wider. Samsung will include 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM on the inside, along with 512GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. A 4,400mAh battery is also mentioned, along with 25W charging. Android 12 will come pre-installed while an improved camera setup is also in the cards. A 50-megapixel main camera will be utilized, along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to launch in August, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
