Phone companies partnering with camera companies aren’t anything new. Back in 2016, Huawei entered a multi-year partnership with Leica that ended recently. Also, we’re still talking about the partnership with OnePlus and Hasselblad. These brands offer lenses, calibration, and tuning that help the photography in several ways.
Now, the N0kia Zeiss partnership is now over
Nothing lasts forever; future Nokia phones will no longer feature the Zeiss branding on their cameras. Thus, the phones will no longer have the company’s influence. That’s bad news for Nokia fans who enjoyed the photography on their phones. In a statement to Nokia Mob, the company said that “in 2021 ZEISS and HMD Global have mutually agreed not to prolong their non-exclusive partnership which included collaboration for imaging technologies of ‘Nokia’ branded smartphones with ZEISS as consulting and development partner.” Right now, we don’t know if Nokia will seek a partnership with another camera brand in the future. We’ll have to wait and see what the company’s next move is in order to be sure.
The Nokia G50 5G could be your next phone
If you’re looking for a new phone, but you don’t want to pay top dollar, then Nokia might have a phone just for you. This is a phone that will get you through your day just fine. The Nokia G50 5G is a phone with decent specs for its price. It runs on Android 11, so you’re not getting the newest software, but it’s still plenty capable. It’s powered by a newer version of the Snapdragon 450, and that’s the SD 450 5G. As its name implies, this phone can use 5G signals. It has 4GB of RAM which should be decent, and it has 128GB of storage. This means that you’ll have plenty of room to store your files. This phone costs $199, and you can buy it from Nokia’s site.
