For the Galaxy A51, the Android 12 update comes with Samsung’s One UI 4.1. It is available to users of both carrier-locked and unlocked variants and also brings the February 2022 Android security patch. The updated firmware version for the two variants is A515USQU7DVD3 and A515U1UEU7DVD4 respectively. The Galaxy A32 5G is also getting One UI 4.1 with the Android 12 update in the US. The rollout is currently limited to the carrier-locked variants with firmware version A326USQU7BVD1 and comes with the April security patch. Users of unlocked variants can expect to receive the update in the next few days. Lastly, the Android 12 update is also now rolling out to the unlocked variants of the Galaxy A42 5G in the US. The update comes almost four months after the carrier-locked variants received it. When the rollout began for the carrier-locked variants in January, Samsung hadn’t introduced One UI 4.1. Android 12 for the devices came with One UI 4.0. The unlocked variants are also now getting the older One UI version. The new update bundles the March security patch.
Android 12 goodies reach more Galaxy smartphones in the US
Android 12 brings tons of new features and enhancements to Galaxy smartphones. Samsung has developed a Color Palette feature inspired by Google’s Material You dynamic theming. It lets you extract the color scheme of your wallpaper and apply it to the system-wide UI elements, allowing for a consistent look. Apart from that, we have improved stock apps, new privacy features including display indicators for camera and microphone access, Grammarly integration with Samsung Keyboard, improved widgets, new photo editing features, improved Bixby Routines, enhanced dark mode, and several other new features and improvements. If you’re using the Galaxy A51, Galaxy A32 5G, or Galaxy A42 5G in the US and haven’t yet received Android 12, it shouldn’t be a much longer wait now. Watch out for a notification regarding the OTA (over the air) rollout in the coming days. You can also head over to the Software update menu in your phone’s Settings app to manually check for updates. Tap on the Download and install option to check if you have an OTA update pending download. If there’s none, check again a few days later.
