The Galaxy S22 model numbers have seemingly been revealed

The Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra (names have not been confirmed) will carry the SM-S901x, SM-S906x, and SM-S908x model numbers, respectively. The Samsung SM-G9xx series of model numbers first appeared with the Galaxy S5. That device carried the SM-G900x model number. The Galaxy S21 smartphones carried the SM-G991x, SM-G996x, and SM-G998x model numbers. Samsung has to change its naming at this point, obviously. Well, it could have jumped over to the SM-G1000x model number, but it won’t. The company will simply remove the ‘G’ letter, to the ‘S’ for the new series. The Galaxy S22 series is not expected to launch anytime soon. It will launch in either January or February, depending on Samsung’s release cycle. This year, the Galaxy S21 series arrived in January, though usually the S series launches in February.

Some Galaxy S22 info did surface, but not much

Not much information surfaced when it comes to these phones. That’s not surprising at all, considering how far away from the launch timeframe we are at this point. The Galaxy S22 series is tipped to offer 65W fast wired charging, at least that’s what the rumors are suggesting. That would be a considerable improvement compared to the 25W charging that is supported at the moment. A 200-megapixel main camera also surfaced in rumors. A partnership with Olympus was also mentioned, as Samsung may want to boost its camera offerings. OnePlus recently partnered up with Hasselblad, so Samsung may be looking to do something similar, but with another company. Samsung’s Exynos SoC with an AMD GPU was also tipped, but we’re not sure that chip will be included with the Galaxy S22 series. Everything is pointing in that direction, as that processor is expected to launch this year. Still, we cannot know for sure, Samsung may once again opt for Qualcomm’s SoC instead.
