In mid-June, Samsung announced that it will unveil the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro and the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro on July 13. But the company took wraps off the latter a couple of weeks early, in late June. It didn’t reveal what prompted the early unveiling of the new rugged smartphone. The firm announced everything from the specs and key features to the pricing and availability of the device. It even released a promotional video for the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro. The Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro didn’t accompany the rugged smartphone. We expected it to arrive on the schedule, i. e. on July 13. However, July came and went, and the new rugged tablet has yet to come out through Samsung’s doors. It appears the company just realized that and is now gathering regulatory approval for the rugged tablet. The device recently appeared on the Safety Korea certification portal.

Certification shows the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro in a live photo

First spotted by SamMobile, Safety Korea lists the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro with the model number SM-T636N. It should be the LTE variant of the tablet for the domestic market. In international markets, the letter “N” in the model number will be replaced by “B” or “U”. The Wi-Fi model carries the identifier SM-T630. This listing also contains a live photo of the upcoming Samsung tablet. It shows a rugged design with thick bezels around the display and three physical buttons. We can also see a front-facing camera. The device roughly measures 245 x 170mm, a similar size to the original Galaxy Tab Active Pro launched back in 2019. This suggests the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro will feature a 10.1-inch display. Though not seen in the photo, Samsung will likely offer S Pen support with this tablet. There should also be a hard case with a holster to keep the stylus pen. Unfortunately, there’s no telling when the Galaxy Tab Active Pro will go official. It has already missed a launch date, so the Korean firm would likely expedite its release now. We will keep you updated.
