According to the new report, the Galaxy Tab S8 will sport an 11-inch LTPS LCD screen with a 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The Galaxy Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra, meanwhile, will get Super AMOLED screens. The former features a 12.4-inch panel with a 2800 x 1752 pixels resolution while the latter’s screen will measure 14.6-inch diagonally. Previous reports suggest that all three models will offer a 120Hz display refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The devices will also be compatible with Samsung’s S Pen. Coming to the battery, the Galaxy Tab S8 will pack an 8,000mAh unit, while the Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra will pack 10,090mAh and 11,200mAh battery units respectively. The latest report doesn’t mention charging speeds but we are expecting 45W fast charging support on the latter two. The Galaxy Tab S8 could settle for 25W fast charging. Lastly, Snoopy claims the Galaxy Tab S8 will weigh 510 grams, Tab S8+ will weigh 580 grams, and the Tab S8 Ultra will weigh 730 grams. For reference, the Galaxy Tab S7 also weighed around 500 grams while the Galaxy Tab S7+ weighed around 575 grams. These two 2020 models also featured similar-sized screens and battery packs as their upcoming successors. So it’s not surprising that there’s not much of a difference in terms of weight.
Galaxy Tab S8 series is long overdue
Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S7 series back in August 2020. The company didn’t launch any flagship Android tablets in 2021 due to reasons best known to it. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which arrived in May last year, isn’t quite up to the mark. So we are long overdue a Tab S7 series successor from the Korean giant this year. The Galaxy Tab S8 series will finally fill that void. That said, we don’t yet have confirmation on when the new tablets will launch. Samsung has just taken wraps off the Galaxy S21 FE and is now gearing up for the big launch of the Galaxy S22 series next month. We expect to hear more about the Galaxy Tab S8 series in the coming weeks.
