First spotted by Roland Quandt of WinFuture, support pages are now live for both size variants of the vanilla Galaxy Watch 5 — 40mm (SM-R905F) and 44mm (SM-R915F) — as well as the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (SM-R925F), which comes in a 45mm dial size, on Samsung websites in several countries. As usual, the pages don’t reveal anything about the devices apart from the model numbers. But it’s a piece of concrete evidence that their official unveiling is just around the corner. The Galaxy Watch 5 series has appeared in numerous leaks over the past few months. We recently saw the devices in high-resolution 3D renders, revealing their design in great detail. The leak also confirmed the rumors that Samsung is ditching the fan-favorite physical bezel ring from its smartwatches, reportedly for the sake of bigger batteries. The new smartwatches may also get faster charging. Optional LTE cellular connectivity, IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5 are some other highlights of the Galaxy Watch 5 series. We expect to hear more about the devices as Samsung prepares for the launch.
Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is rumored for August 10
Samsung has yet to announce the dates for its second Galaxy unpacked event of the year. But numerous rumors have hinted at the August 10 date for the event. There are also reports of it being an offline show, a first for the company’s big launch events in two years. The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked could take place in New York. Of course, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro aren’t the only devices coming out through Samsung’s doors at this event. The stars of the show would be the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldables. These devices have also been subject to a plethora of leaks, revealing a great deal about them much before the official unveiling. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro TWS earbuds are also expected to arrive alongside the new foldables and smartwatches next month. These wearables haven’t received as much attention as the rest of the lineup. Nonetheless, with almost a month to go for the Galaxy Unpacked, there’s still enough time for a few more leaks. We will let you know as and when we have more information.
