The US-bound Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G are currently receiving the One UI 4.1 update on unlocked units. The new firmware versions for the two clamshell folding phones from 2020 are F700U1UEU4GVC4 and F707U1UEU2FVC4. The OTA (over the air) update is currently available on T-Mobile’s network (including Sprint) but should soon reach other networks as well. The carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip and Flip 5G units should also soon pick up the One UI 4.1 update. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G, on the other hand, is first receiving the latest One UI version on carrier-locked units. The updated firmware version for this affordable Galaxy flagship from 2020 is G781USQU7FVC2. The OTA rollout for this phone is also currently limited to T-Mobile’s network. However, it shouldn’t be long before other carriers join the party. Likewise, the unlocked Galaxy S20 FE 5G should also get the One UI 4.1 update in the US soon. The latest update for the US-bound Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy S20 FE 5G comes with the March 2022 Android security patch. Last month’s SMR (security maintenance release) contains fixes for more than 50 vulnerabilities, including a few critical ones. However, it’s One UI 4.1 that’s we are more excited about. There are a lot of new features and enhancements to look forward to here. Highlights of One UI 4.1 include an enhanced Object Eraser, Grammarly-integrated Samsung Keyboard, more personalization options, Google Duo Live Sharing, Quick Share, improved Color Palette, customizable RAM Plus, and the GOS-related changes and fixes.
One UI 4.1 reaches more Galaxy smartphones in the US
Samsung introduced One UI 4.1 on the Galaxy S22 series in February. The company last month started rolling out the new One UI version to its older eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update has already reached over a dozen devices. One UI 4.1 is now gradually reaching more Galaxy smartphones in the US as well. If you’re using any of the Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US, you should receive the One UI 4.1 update anytime now if you haven’t already. As always, your phone will notify you of the OTA rollout once available. You can also manually check for updates from the Software update menu in the Settings app.
