The one-minute ad, published in the Made by Google YouTube account, is entitled “Google Pixel 7: The Beautiful Game Belongs to All of Us.” It focuses on the camera features and machine learning capabilities included in the Pixel 7. The ad also tries to tease Qatar because of the restrictions it has imposed on LGBTQIA+ supporters. The US Women’s National Team star Meghan Rapinoe and former Colombian national team captain Carlos Valderrama are playing in the ad. Rapinoe is known for her support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Google has tried highlighting the improved Real Tone, and Super Res Zoom features in the Pixel 7 camera. The real-time language translation, made possible thanks to Tensor G2 chips, is also highlighted in the World Cup ad. While the ad is trying to represent the Pixel 7 features, it also manifests support for the LGBTQIA+ community. The emphasis on “The Beautiful Game Belongs to All of Us,” and Meghan Rapinoe’s presence confirms this. Since the beginning of the World Cup, Qatar has come under fire for not allowing LGBTQIA+ shirts, symbols, and flags inside the stadiums. A US journalist was also banned from entering the stadium due to wearing a shirt with rainbow colors. Additionally, FIFA didn’t allow some European teams like England and Germany to play with “OneLove” armbands. These armbands show support for LGBTQIA +. The conditions of migrant workers and human rights violations in Qatar are also among the reasons why this country has been severely criticized.
