The Google Pixel 6 is officially the fastest selling Pixel ever
As a reminder, Google I/O is set to start on May 11. That’s where the keynote will take place, but the developer’s conference will be a two-day event. Sundar Pichai said that the “Pixel 6 is a huge step forward for the Pixel portfolio”, while he added: “I’m excited about the products we have coming and look forward to sharing more at Google I/O”. Needless to say, this is basically a confirmation we’ll get new products at Google I/O 2022. That was to be expected, as the Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch have been on the horizon for a while now. Those two devices have been leaking quite intensively lately. The Pixel 6a already appeared in CAD renders, and it leaked several times after that. It even appeared at the FCC. The Pixel Watch prototype was left in a restaurant, and a ton of information about the device has been popping up.
It’s quite likely both the Pixel 6a & Pixel Watch will launch during Google I/O 2022
It is quite likely that both devices will become official on May 11. Sundar Pichai, of course, did not name either of the two devices. So, we’ll have to wait for the actual event to be sure of this. Now, Pichai also said that the Android team will “showcase at I/O the many helpful features and services that Android and its platforms provide”. We’ll get plenty of Android 13 talk during the event, that’s for sure. Android 13 Beta 1 was pushed out quite recently, and it’s the perfect timing considering that Google I/O is right around the corner. Sundar Pichai also added: “Over the coming years, we will continue to invest in new form factors, seamless multi-device experiences, and raising the bar for user privacy while giving developers the tools they need to succeed on mobile”. All in all, it seems like this year’s Google I/O won’t be entirely software-focused. If both the Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch arrive, that’ll certainly add some flavor to the event as a whole.
