The Pixel 6a appeared on Geekbench, and revealed some of its specs
Android 12 is also mentioned in this listing, and the same goes for the Google Tensor SoC. On top of that, you’ll see a mention of 6GB of RAM in the listing as well. Those are the specs we expected, basically. Several reports said that Google aims to use its Tensor SoC inside the phone. That is the same chip that the company included in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. We’re not sure if an 8GB RAM model will be available, but it’s quite possible that this 6GB RAM variant will be the only one available. Android 12 will come pre-installed, of course, as this phone is expected to launch in May.
Its design surfaced a while back too
The Pixel 6a already surfaced in CAD-based renders, giving us a good idea of its design. The phone will resemble the Pixel 6 quite a bit. Google is ditching the Pixel 5a design, a design which the company used on a number of devices. The Pixel 6a’s display is expected to measure between 6.2 and 6.4 inches, and it will likely be a fullHD+ panel. We’re not sure about its refresh rate, though, but chances are this will be a 60Hz panel. Google will likely include 21W wired charging here, though that charging will slow down considerably after the phone reaches a 50-percent charge. That is the case with the Pixel 6, so chances are we’ll get the exact same thing here. Wireless charging likely won’t be included, though we’ll have to wait and see. The phone is tipped to launch in May, so it’s easily possible it will be announced at Google I/O 2022.
