It effectively brings Google Workspace to collaboration and communication tools. 9to5Google reports that users will find enterprise-grade versions of services like Drive, Gmail, Meet, Calendar, and the trio of Docs/Slides/Sheets under the Enterprise Plus tier. This will cost $18/month per user. “Google’s Work Safer provides companies with access to best-in-class security for email, meetings, messages, documents, and more. It uniquely brings together the cloud-native, zero-trust solutions of Google Workspace with BeyondCorp Enterprise for secure access with integrated threat and data protection,” Google said in a press release. Google will also combine the services of cybersecurity firms like CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks for Work Safer. The company said this would help businesses gain “a stronger security posture quickly.”

Additionally, Work Safer will offer fraud prevention backed by reCAPTCHA Enterprise. Customers also have access to security analytics via Chronicle, and a handful of services to help them migrate to Workspace. Google said Work Safer customers will also receive “Pixel phones managed with Android Enterprise, Chrome Enterprise Upgrade, and HP Chromebooks.” Moreover, Google will also offer the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro for testing purposes before making a larger purchase. The company is allowing interested customers to register for the program from its dedicated link here. Google also announced the Google Cybersecurity Action Team to aid “security and digital transformation of governments, critical infrastructure, enterprises, and small businesses.” This team will consist of in-house experts who will come up with insights, engineering, and consumer solutions. The team will also develop programs to leverage Google’s services such as Work Safer to offer reliable solutions. This is an extension of the company’s recent pledge to spend $10 billion over a five-year period towards bolstering cybersecurity. Google is making several other announcements as part of its Cloud Next ‘21 virtual event. This annual event revolves around the company’s enterprise solutions and developers. A bulk of the Google Workspace-related releases at Cloud Next ‘21 are related to security.
