Since Google has been really looking after its other messaging apps and services, it is surprising and good to see that it is still working behind the curtains to upgrade apps like Google Voice. In an official blog, Google said that now, Google Voice users will know why a call did not ring and the steps that they can follow to fix this. To do that, all you need to do is head over to the Missed Call or Voicemail section and click the link button that says “This device wasn’t set to receive incoming calls.” Clicking on this will show you the steps to turn of the DND (Do Not Disturb) mode or settings that is preventing your device to receive calls. Google is also making it easy to redial missed or dropped calls. Additionally, you can now easily switch your mobile network if you think your Wi-Fi connection is the culprit behind the dropped calls.

Google Voice iOS users can now choose to see their Google Voice number as the caller ID

If you are on iOS and use Google Voice, a neat feature is added for you. Apparently, as per Google (via The Verge), iOS users can choose to see their Google Voice number as the caller ID rather than their original number, when an incoming call is linked to Google Voice. Users can now delete SMS messages in bulk, making it easier to clean up the junk in the inbox. You can perform the same action on the Google Voice web version as well. To use this feature, Google Voice users need to tap on tap on the avatar of one or more SMS messages. This will show up a trash bin icon on the bar above the SMS threads. Simply tap on this icon to delete the messages in bulk. Google Voice will also show why a call was dropped. If it is because of poor internet connectivity, you can choose to call using your mobile carrier. There is no admin control for this feature, and all the features will be turned OFF by default. So, you need to manually navigate to the Settings menu to turn it ON. Call Drop Reason and Redial, and Delete multiple SMS messages at once features are available for all users, whereas the Caller ID feature is now live for all iOS users. The Missed Call Reason feature will reach Google Voice users in the coming days.
