HONOR may no longer be Huawei’s company, but Huawei’s influence is still visible here. That is the naming that Huawei usually uses for its smartphones, the base model, the Pro model, and the Pro+ model.
The HONOR Magic 3 series includes Google apps
Unlike Huawei, however, HONOR can use Google’s services. All three of these smartphones come with Android 11 pre-installed, along with Google services, and HONOR’s proprietary UI, Magic UI 5.0. These three phones are quite similar, but there are some differences, of course. All three of them feature a “Super Curved Display” with thin bezels. This display is curved on an 89-degree angle, so it’s not a surprise HONOR refers to it as “Super Curved”. All three phones feature a 6.76-inch panel with a resolution of 2772 x 1344. This is an OLED display, and it offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It is HDR10+ certified, by the way. The HONOR Magic 3 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage. The Magic 3 Pro includes 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 256GB / 512GB of storage. The most powerful Magic 3 handset comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage only.
The Snapdragon 888 is included, as is 66W fast charging
The Snapdragon 888 chip fuels all three phones, while all three devices also have a 4,600mAh battery on the inside. 66W fast wired charging is also something that all phones offer, while wireless charging (50W) is reserved for Pro and Pro+ models. Now, the cameras are what HONOR focused on quite a bit. The camera setups are a bit different between devices, so we’ll talk about those separately. Let’s start with the Magic 3. It has three cameras, wide, ultrawide, and monochrome units. A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.9 aperture, 1/1.56” CMOS sensor, full pixel 2×2 on-chip lens autofocus), is backed by a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera (120-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture), and a 64-megapixel monochrome camera (f/1.8 aperture). The HONOR Magic 3 Pro has the same main, monochrome, and ultrawide cameras, but it adds a fourth one. That fourth camera is a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto unit (f/3.5 aperture, 3.5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, 100x digital zoom, color sensor, OIS).
The HONOR Magic 3 Pro+ has the most powerful camera setup
The Magic 3 Pro+ is a bit different in some ways. It has the same monochrome camera as the other two phones, and the same telephoto as the HONOR 30 Pro. The ultrawide camera is also a 64-megapixel one, but with a 126-degree FoV, and 7P optical zoom lens. The aperture is also a bit different at f/2.4. A 50-megapixel main camera has a 2.44um pixel size (4-in-1 pixels), OIS, ultra-large color sensor, and f/1.9 aperture. All three phones boast a 13-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.4 aperture, 100-degree FoV). All three devices boast something called ‘IMAX ENHANCED’ cinematic videography, 10-bit Log and Cinematic 3D LUTs. It sounds interesting, but we’ll see how it translates to real life. All three phones offer stereo speakers with 3-microphone stereo voice reception. The Pro and Pro+ models even have a 3D ToF camera on the front for secure facial scanning. It is also worth saying that HONOR used ceramic to build the Pro+ model, but not the other two handsets, which feature either metal + glass or metal + Vegan leather build (more on that below). All three phones are IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
All three devices come in several color options
The HONOR Magic 3 comes in Blue Hour (Vegan leather) and Golden Hour (Vegan leather) colors. The Magic 3 Pro comes in Golden Hour (Vegan leather), Black, and White colors. The Magic 3 Pro+ has been announced in Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colors. We still don’t know how much will the three phones cost, but we’ll update the article as soon as we get that information. HONOR Magic 3: Magic 3 Pro: Magic 3 Pro+:
