The HONOR X40 is tipped to include uniform bezels
Before we get into the specs side of things, let’s talk about the design real quick. Based on the rumors, the HONOR X40 will have uniform bezels, which is not something we see often. It will also include a centered display camera hole, and a really interesting rear camera design. Its display will be curved, while the frame will be made out of metal. We’re presuming that glass will be used on the back of this phone. The HONOR X40 will be a mid-range smartphone, but its specs are nothing to scoff at. Based on new information, the HONOR X40 will feature a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) display. That display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit color support.
A rather compelling set of specs is expected on the HONOR X40
The phone will include a 50-megapixel main camera, which will be backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. A 2-megapixel camera will also sit on the back, but we’re not sure if it will be a macro camera, or a depth camera. The Snapdragon 695 SoC is said to fuel the phone. That is not the most recent chip, as it fuels the HONOR X30 as well, which is interesting. As a reminder, the HONOR X30 arrived back in December last year. In the battery department, this phone will be well-equipped. A 5,000mAh battery will be included, which has a 300mAh higher capacity than the one inside the HONOR X30. 40W fast charging is also mentioned.
Android 12 is said to ship out of the box
Android 12 will come pre-installed on the device, along with HONOR’s Magic UI skin. The phone will measure 161.6 x 73.9 x 7.9mm, and weigh 172 grams. The processor is the only part that worries us a bit, but the rest of it looks really nice. It will all depend on the price tag, of course. If HONOR gets the price right, this could be a rather appealing phone. Do note that it’s launching in China on September 14, but it may arrive to global markets after being rebranded to one of the company’s global lineups, we’ll see.
