While you can setup Face Unlock in the setup process of your Samsung Galaxy smartphone, if you opted not too, you can still do it later on. And today we’ll show you exactly how to do that.

How To Setup Face Unlock On Your Samsung Galaxy Smartphone

To get started, head into Settings. Now scroll down to “Biometrics and security”. Next, tap on “Face recognition”. This option should be the first one, or second. Now, you will need to enter your PIN, password or draw your lock pattern, depending on what screen lock you use.

If you don’t currently have a screen lock, you will be forced to create one. This is used as a backup in case Face Unlock fails.

Samsung will now show you a screen with some information about Face recognition, including the fact that your face data is secured by Knox. Tap on “Continue”. Next, it will ask if you wear glasses or not. Answer the question and then click on “Continue”. Now, your phone will proceed to register your face. Make sure to keep your face within the square on the screen, so it can register your face. This should only take a few seconds. After that, you’ll be given the option to keep the lock screen on after it has authenticated your face, or just automatically jump to the home screen. Then tap on “Done”. There are a few more options you may want to enable. These includes:

Faster recognition: this will enable a quicker unlock that could also be more easily fooled.Require Open Eyes: this would require your eyes to be opened, so that your phone can’t be unlocked while you’re asleep.Brighten Screen: this is going to make it easier for the Face Unlock technology to read your face in darker situations.

And that’s it. That’s just how easy it is to unlock your Samsung smartphone with your face.
