You could easily nestle that in between tasks or you could watch during a short break. Assuming you want to watch the event in the first place. Every PlayStation State Of Play livestream is different and focuses on a specific game or group of games. Sometimes the events are about hardware. And sometimes they’re about software updates. So what’s today’s livestream about? Why should you care to watch it and how can you do so? We’re here to answer those questions so you can decide for yourself.

What to expect from today’s PlayStation State Of Play livestream

Today’s State Of Play is going to be focusing on games from Japanese publishers. So, expect to see at least one JRPG reveal during the livestream. If you’re a fan of JRPGs, we won’t say you should get your hopes up about seeing more of Final Fantasy XVI. Because quite frankly, we’re huge fans of the series and we’ve been let down before. So if you’re also a Final Fantasy fan, it’s probably best to go in with no expectations. That being said, this is a good thing. Because if there is more Final Fantasy XVI content to be shown, then it’ll come as a pleasant surprise. What we do know is that there won’t be anything to do with PS VR2 titles. So if you were hoping to see some games for Sony’s upcoming VR headset, you’re out of luck on that. Sony says the event will focus on games coming from some of its “beloved Japanese publishers.” However, you can also expect “a few updates from other developers located around the world.” In short, it’s mostly about Japanese publishers but it’s worth sticking around for the whole thing.

How and when to watch the event

The PlayStation State Of Play event will begin at 2PM PST today. Which puts it right in the middle of the afternoon. The perfect time for a lunch break if you’ve got the time to take one. That puts it at 5PM on the East coast. Which is even better for some because their work day may already be over. As for how to watch the event, as always Sony will be livestreaming over on its official YouTube channel. Which you can watch in the video below. You can also catch the livestream on the PlayStation Twitch channel if you prefer to watch your livestreams on that platform.
