This Huawei smartwatch comes with built-in earbuds
On the outside, the Huawei Watch Buds watch looks like many other Huawei smartwatches, for the most part. Its watch dial does open up, and that’s where its truly wireless earbuds are situated. That’s where they charge, and sit when you’re not using them. Huawei calls this design the Flip Cover design. The part which allows you to open up the watch as you would a car trunk. Huawei uses magnets to make all of this possible, as the earbuds are magnetized on the inside. The company says they’re easy to remove, though. The watch’s frame is made out of stainless steel hardened at 1,300°C, and there’s also 3D curved glass on top of it. The drill-cut buttons and crown are decorated with 710 Pris studs, says the company.
It has a nice-looking display, and supports wireless charging
There is a 1.43-inch AMOLED display included here, with a resolution of 466 x 466. This display has a 326 PPI, and it is touch-sensitive, of course. A 410mAh battery is included, while each earbud has a 30mAh battery built-in. The watch itself does support wireless charging, and it comes with a charging puck. The watch has a 6-axis inertial sensor (acceleration sensor, gyro sensor), an optical heart rate sensor 5.0, an ambient light sensor, a Hall sensor, a capacitive sensor, and a bone conduction device (VACC). There is also an SpO2 sensor included, and the watch can monitor the female menstrual cycle too. Heart rate atrial fibrillation screening is included, ECG, and more.
Huawei says that its battery lasts up to 3 days
Huawei says that the watch battery can last up to 3 days. That’s less than most modern Huawei smartwatches, but more than most other smartwatches out there. That’s reasonable as there are a pair of earbuds included on the inside. What about the earbuds? Well, Huawei says that you can get up to 4 hours of listening time with noise reduction turned off, and 3 with it turned on. You can also use them for voice calls for up to 2.5 hours with noise reduction turned off, and 2 hours with it turned on. Bluetooth 5.2 is supported here, as is NFC. The earbuds are IP54 certified as well, so you can wear them to your fitness sessions without a problem. The same goes for runs in the rain, and so on.
HarmonyOS 2 comes pre-installed
The Huawei Watch Buds smartwatch is compatible with Android 7.0+ and iOS 9+. It comes with HarmonyOS 2 out of the box. The Huawei Watch Buds watch measures 47 x 47.5 x 14.99mm. It weighs 66.5 grams without a strap. Each of the earphones measures 21.8 x 10.3 x 10.3mm, while they weigh 4 grams (each). 22mm straps fit on this watch, by the way, and the watch itself comes with a leather watch band. This smartwatch got announced in China, but we’re hoping it will make its way to global markets. Many people would find something like this very interesting. You’d basically never forget a pair of earbuds this way. The Huawei Watch Buds watch is priced at CNY2,988. It’s already available to purchase in China, while we’re waiting for more information regarding its global availability.
