This is something that people have been wanting for a while. A lot of creators want to share the products they love with their followers and friends. A lot of smaller brands can gain recognition as well. Mostly the big brands have the money to pay content creators a living wage to promote their products. However, smaller companies can’t do that.
Thankfully, Instagrams users in the US can tag products in their posts
If you don’t know what product tagging is, then here’s a crash course. When you post a picture, you have the option to tag other users. When someone taps on your photo, they’ll see little buttons pop up and, when they tap on those buttons, they’ll be taken to that user’s account. Well, people can actually do that for products from companies. For the longest time, only big-time creators were able to do this. Now, if you use Instagram in the US, it’s easy to add a product tag to your post. The company announced that this ability was slowly making its way to more people back in March.
How to tag a product
Tagging a product is an easy process. First, go through the basic steps for making and uploading a post. Once you get to the step where you’re putting in the caption, this is where you’ll do things differently. Directly under the caption text box, you’ll see the “Tag People” button; tap on it. There, you’ll tap anywhere on the screen to start the tagging process (preferably on the actual product). After that, you’re going to search up the company that makes the product. When you do that, you’ll see two options on the bottom of the screen: People and Products. When you tap Products, you’ll see a list of products from that company pop up. Just pick the product(s) you’re using and then you’re done. When a person taps on the tag on your photo, it will show them additional information on that product.
