Using the new feature, users can pin three posts or reels on top of their Instagram profile. Treat this feature similar to what we already have for Twitter, called “pinned tweet.” This way, users can highlight their best work, i.e., post or reel on their Instagram profile. In the process of using this grid pinning feature, you need to tap on the three dots icon on any individual post that you want on top of your profile. Then, you need to select the Pin to your profile option. This will bring the selected post on top of your profile grid. Apparently, the feature won’t be available to everyone at once. If the feature isn’t live for you then you might need to wait for a few days. Pinned posts will show up on your profile with a small white pin. As soon as you add a new post, the existing one will move to the right.
Instagram is also rolling out a security feature to expand the Sensitive Content Control feature
Apart from the grid pinning feature, Instagram will also be rolling out a security feature. Instagram users will be able to control the amount of sensitive content and accounts they encounter or see on the platform thanks to this feature. This is an expansion of the Sensitive Content Control feature. It has three options, which the company has renamed from the time it was introduced. It will enable users to understand what each option does. These three options are More, Standard, and Less. Standard is the default state of sensitive content control, which prevents people from viewing some sensitive content and accounts on their platform. Meta recently expanded the maximum length of Reels to 90 seconds. Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that this would make it easier for creators to engage and share their work with fans. The update for Instagram with the grid pinning feature will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. This could be crucial for users, especially Instagram content creators, as it will give them more flexibility to showcase their content and express themselves on their profiles. Currently, users can only pin Stories to their profiles, but the grid pinning feature expands the ability to posts and reels as well.
