OnePlus started rolling out the Android 12 update to the OnePlus 9 series models months ago. The OnePlus 9 update for Europe has been pulled soon after it started rolling out, though, due to bugs.
March 2022 update has started rolling out to the OnePlus 9 series
Well, this March update brings back Android 12 to the device. My unit has been on OxygenOS 11 until yesterday, when I updated to Android 12 thanks to this update. The phone seems to work fine, I haven’t noticed any bugs yet. Do note that I’m talking about the regular OnePlus 9 only here, the OnePlus 9 Pro in Europe has been rocking Android 12 for months, as have both OnePlus 9 units in North America and India. In any case, this new update comes with the ‘C.47’ model number. OnePlus did share the changelog for it, so let’s see what’s new here, excluding Android 12 changes for the EU OnePlus 9, of course.
The company issued various fixed & optimizations via this update
The company has optimized the “stability of communications”. The issue of the operator’s name has been fixed as well, as it has been displayed incorrectly in some instances. Sometimes, some OnePlus 9 series units were unable to send an MMS, which has been fixed now too. Various other, unnamed system stability updates have been issued, while the Android security patch for March 2022 has also been included. On top of everything listed, the company has also improved the camera. OnePlus listed that “the fluency of taking pictures” has been optimized. As per usual when it comes to the company’s updates, this one is rolling out OTA (Over The Air). The update has started rolling out, and some of you have probably already received it. If you have not, you will in the coming days, so be patient.
