While there’s still no specific launch date available for the Moto Edge 30 Pro, 91Mobiles cites tipster Mukul Sharma claiming that the flagship will launch in February. The tipster also revealed that the phone would arrive in global markets concurrently with India. As per recent information, the smartphone could launch under a different name when it breaks cover in India. The Edge 30 Pro is already available in China under the Moto X30 moniker, so it wouldn’t be surprising if it has a different name in another market. There’s a fair bit of excitement about Motorola’s upcoming smartphone, going by the expected hardware. It will also be among the few smartphones with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset underneath. The aforementioned Moto X30 in China has the honor of being the first phone with Qualcomm’s latest silicon underneath. But considering the long list of upcoming smartphone announcements, the advantage could be short-lived.

Moto Edge 30 Pro will compete with Samsung’s trio of Galaxy S22 flagship smartphones

The upcoming Edge 30 Pro could be a crucial device for the Lenovo-owned company. It should feature a 6.7-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, accompanied by an in-display fingerprint scanner. Customers can expect up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage space (UFS 3.1). The Edge 30 Pro also features a triple camera layout comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There’s a massive 60-megapixel front camera on this flagship. Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, etc. Lastly, the Edge 30 Pro should offer a 5,000mAh battery backed by 68W fast wired charging support. Android 12 should be running by default, though the global versions could feature a relatively stock version of Android, unlike the Moto X30. February is shaping up to be a pretty exciting month for smartphone enthusiasts with the arrival of Motorola’s new flagship and the trio of Samsung Galaxy S22 flagships. We’re hoping to come across a few surprise announcements in February, particularly with MWC 2022 around the corner.
