Fast forward to now, Google is adding some new styles for the Google Photos Memories widget. This would allow Google Photos users to show off their memories in a fun and interesting frame styles on their device’s home screen. Google Photos Memories widgets were the first ones to make use of the new free-form widget frames. According to XDA Developers, the company is notably pushing a new update for the Photos app, which brings new frame styles. XDA’s Mishaal Rahman shared this piece of information in a tweet. As per Mishaal, users need to be running Google Photos version 5.65 in order to use new frame styles. This version of the Google Photos app will be arriving for users stage-wise.
Google Photos app version 5.65 has started rolling out on the Google Play Store
For some users, version 5.65 of the Google Photos app is already live on the Play Store. However, if it is not live in your region, then you can always rely on the trusted APK Mirror. If your device is already running the new version of the Google Photos app, you can access frame styles from the widget picker. For that, simply long-press on your home screen. This will pop out a few options from which you need to select Widgets. Here, you need to select Memories widgets and drag-n-drop them on your home screen. You will be greeted with a new screen that will ask you to select a frame style. There are a total of six frame styles you can apply for your Google Photos Memories widgets, which are shown in the images attached below. Not just one, but you could add multiple different styles of Memories widgets on your home screen. The fun part, they are resizable too, and if you are into customization, you would definitely love them. Just a reminder, you need to have Google Photos app version 5.65 to be able to use new frame styles. Side-loading of the Google Photos app is not advised, as you may lose some features. Since you are your own boss, you can try out sideloading the app, but at your own risk.
