We’ve been following the Nothing Phone(1) ever since Carl Pei announced it a few months ago. At this point, we know a lot about this phone and what it will offer. Information like the charging speed was recently leaked. So, there’s very little left to the imagination.

Now, we know that the Nothing Phone(1) will not come with a charger

We’ve seen a lot of leaks about the Nothing Phone(1) over the past couple of weeks. Now, we have a new one that tells us a lot. It came from the Twitter account of Abhishek Yadav. He posted a photo of a stack of Nothing Phone(1) boxes. The stack shows five boxes stacked in a spiral. The thing about this image is that all of the boxes are so thin. This means that the Nothing Phone(1) won’t come with a charger.

This is a bit of a shock

This news will come as a surprise to most people. Not because we all hold Carl Pei to some high moral standard. Rather, because when he announced the Nothing Phone(1), he did so on the platform that he’s challenging Apple. He spent a good amount of time putting off that the company Nothing was going to be the antithesis of Apple, what it stands for, and other companies that follow its examples. This raised some eyebrows, yes, but it put in our heads that Nothing would provide a breath of fresh air from the nonsense that big businesses were normalizing. So, for the company to turn around and do the same thing that those big brands are doing is a bit jarring. Nothing is a new company, so we can understand that it cuts expenses, but Pei is positioning this phone and the entire company as your break away from big business trends. We’ll have to wait and see if there are any other aspects of this phone that will help differentiate it from the big businesses that are ruling the smartphone industry.
