OnePlus’ alert slider may become a premium feature, tipster claims
According to a well-known tipster, Yogesh Brar, a number of upcoming OnePlus devices won’t include an alert slider. The recently-released OnePlus 10R doesn’t feature it, and neither does the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite. What’s interesting is that the OnePlus Nord 2T will include it, based on leaks. Yogesh Brar seems to indicate that the alert slider will become a premium feature, as OnePlus allegedly plans to include it on its premium phones. That is a rather odd choice considering that the OnePlus Nord 2T will feature it, and it is not exactly a flagship phone. We’ll see what will happen down the road, but if the tipster is right, we may end up seeing the alert slider on the flagship lineup from the company only. OnePlus users are used to the alert slider at this point, and we’re not sure how wise it is to start removing it. It’s a really convenient way to change your phone’s ring status, it always has been.
The company will announce at least two additional flagship-grade phones this year
OnePlus is tipped to release at least two flagship-grade smartphones before the end of 2022. The OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Ultra are seemingly coming. The OnePlus 10 Pro launched earlier this year. Both of those phones are said to be quite powerful, and include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC. They will, without a doubt, include the alert slider, but we’re not sure about the rest of the company’s lineup. OnePlus didn’t use to release that many smartphones per year, but things are different now. The company releases quite a few Nord devices per year, including both budget and mid-range ones. It remains to be seen which of them will include the alert slider, and which will not.
