In addition to offering detailed specs of the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G, Winfuture.de also tells us that the smartphone could cost up to €1,200 (around $1,370) at launch. This suggests that the device would compete with the current crop of flagship smartphones, including the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Starting with the display, OPPO will use a 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen with rounded edges. Support for 10-bit HDR is built-in, along with a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz. A display resolution of 3216 x 1440 is also quoted, so it’s on par with flagship devices. The screen also houses the in-display optical fingerprint scanner. As is the case with a majority of the recently launched flagships, the Find X5 Pro 5G will feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus for added protection and durability.
The Find X5 Pro 5G will introduce advanced camera features thanks to the MariSilicon X imaging NPU
Unsurprisingly, the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G will utilize Qualcomm’s latest mobile silicon, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This chip also brings the integrated 5G modem plus support for NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6E. WinFuture claims the Find X5 Pro 5G will offer up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM coupled with 256GB of non-expandable UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance as well. At 8.5mm, the Find X5 Pro 5G isn’t the thinnest device going around, but it’s relatively light at 218 grams. OPPO is bringing some big changes to the cameras of its upcoming flagship, thanks to Hasselblad. The rear panel will feature two 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 cameras measuring 1/1.56″ with features like 10-bit color depth. While one of these sensors will act as the primary camera (f/1.7 and 80-degree field of view), the other is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a maximum aperture size of f/2.2. The third is a 13-megapixel telephoto camera with an aperture size of f/2.4. The telephoto sensor enables up to 5x hybrid zooming, with a maximum of 20x zoom possible via the digital zoom feature. This elaborate array of rear cameras is complemented by OPPO’s MariSilicon X imaging NPU (Neural Processing Unit). The rear camera arrangement also features the “Powered by MariSilicon” branding, not leaving much to the imagination.
The manufacturer could unveil the Find X5 Pro 5G during MWC 2022 later this month
These camera features allow the Find X5 Pro 5G to record 4K videos in up to 60 fps. There will also be an advanced night mode feature, leveraging the NPU’s AI capabilities. Meanwhile, the top-left of the screen features a 32-megapixel f/2.4 hole-punch selfie camera with a 90-degree field of view. Android 12 is running by default with OPPO’s ColorOS 12.1. We’re also learning that the Find X5 Pro 5G will sport a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast wired charging. Although OPPO may market the device in colors like “ceramic black” and “ceramic white,” WinFuture notes that the smartphone uses a combination of aluminum and glass in its construction. The device will also bring stereo speakers with surround sound, courtesy of Dolby Atmos. It’s all but certain that the OPPO Find X5 Pro 5G will launch during the 2022 Mobile World Congress (MWC) later this month. The smartphone will likely break cover in Europe and Asian markets by March 2022.
