When you use the speaker at the top of the device, the phone’s accelerometer can capture tiny vibrations generated by that speaker. There was also previous research that focused on capturing vibrations by phone’s loudspeaker. That involved including an external component for capturing data. This works a bit differently, and people are more inclined to talk about sensitive topics while they’re not on a loudspeaker....

August security update reaches the Galaxy A72 & Galaxy A32 in Europe The August SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for the Galaxy A72 is rolling out to users in Russia with firmware version A725FXXU4BVG2. The Galaxy A32 is also getting the update in Russia bearing firmware version A325FXXU2BVH1. Neither model is picking up any new features with the latest release. The changelog only mentions system stability and reliability improvements along with last month’s vulnerability fixes....

According to the report, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra currently receiving the August update in Germany. The new firmware version is G99xBXXU3AUGM. We don’t have a changelog handy, so it’s unclear if this update adds any new features and/or improvements to the Galaxy S21 series. Of course, it introduces the latest security maintenance release (SMR) to the new Samsung flagships. Samsung had begun rolling out the August security update to the Galaxy S21 series last week....

SamMobile notes that the update brings the firmware version G990U1UEU2BUL8 to the device. Expectedly, it introduces a handful of fixes while also patching existing security vulnerabilities. The update is seemingly reaching unlocked versions of the smartphone on carriers such as AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, C-Spire, Tracfone, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile. The Galaxy S22 Ultra will ship with anti-glare ‘Super Clear Lens’ Well, it seems like that information was true. Jimmy Is Promo corroborated the report, by adding that we’re looking at a 108-megapixel main camera here, as reported a number of times. He also added that all this means we’ll get “brighter shots without reflections or glare”. It will sure be interesting to see this camera in action. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is still regarded to be one of the best camera smartphones on the market....

Samsung first announced that it is joining hands with Google to develop a unified smartwatch platform that brings the best of the former’s Tizen OS and the latter’s Wear OS at Google I/O 2021 a year ago. The collaboration gave birth to Wear OS 3, one of the biggest updates ever to the platform. The new and unified platform debuted on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 series later that year and has remained exclusive to those smartwatches so far....

First spotted by Roland Quandt of WinFuture, support pages are now live for both size variants of the vanilla Galaxy Watch 5 — 40mm (SM-R905F) and 44mm (SM-R915F) — as well as the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro (SM-R925F), which comes in a 45mm dial size, on Samsung websites in several countries. As usual, the pages don’t reveal anything about the devices apart from the model numbers. But it’s a piece of concrete evidence that their official unveiling is just around the corner....

The FCC has certified two models of the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro: SM-G736U and SM-G736U1. These could be carrier-locked and unlocked variants of the rugged tablet for the US market, respectively. The unlocked versions of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US are picking up the Android 12 update with firmware version F707U1UEU2EUL9. The same update for the carrier-locked versions of the phone is rolling out with firmware version F707USQS2EUL9, SamMobile reports. According to the new report, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is receiving the December 2021 Android security patch with this update. That’s disappointing since Samsung has already started rolling out the February security update to its devices....

The US version of the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 is receiving the October SMR with the firmware build number F926U1UES1AUI5. The same update for the clamshell folding counterpart has firmware version F711U1UES2AUI5. Both devices are unlikely to be getting any major user-facing improvements or new features apart from this month’s vulnerability fixes. Talking about vulnerability fixes, Samsung has already confirmed that the latest SMR fixes more than 60 privacy and security issues....

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Z Flip 4 “confirmed” to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ The tipster did hint at it in the past, but now he seems to flat out confirm it. He actually used the word “confirm” for this info, and considering his track record, the information is probably accurate. That means that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 will use a brand new TSMC-made Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, dubbed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+....

Officially the maintenance for patch 2.7 of Genshin Impact will begin on May 31 at about 11PM PST. HoYoverse also states that the update maintenance should last for about 5 hours. Which means you should be able to play the new patch content the morning of June 1. You should also be able to preload the patch content early. As HoYoverse usually lets players do so before the new patch actually drops....
