Google is working on its software on two fronts. It’s making Android better-suited for tablets. Also, the company is getting ready to introduce the world to vanilla Wear OS 3. According to Google, this change on Docs started rolling out to users on Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains this Wednesday, May 25th. It should reach all Google Workspace customers, as well as legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers, over the next couple of weeks. There is no admin control for it. The feature will be enabled by default for all eligible users once available to them. Google has also provided keyboard shortcuts for selecting “multiple sections of text” at once....

Around the middle of 2021, Google started a trial of OpenRoaming, where subscribers are connected to “Google Fi WiFi Hotspots” and it gives them more coverage in more places. While in testing, this did not count against your data cap. However, now that the trial is over, it does. Now, it’s called the W+ Network. It will appear in your Pixel’s status bar and in the Settings app as W+....

Google just can’t seem to get its act together when it comes to messaging services. Meanwhile, other companies like Apple (iMessage), Telegram, Slack, Meta (Messenger, WhatsApp), and plenty more have flourishing messaging services. This Android 12 Gmail bug hid the ‘Undo’ function Everyone makes accidental taps and swipes from time to time, and Google acknowledges this. When you get an email notification, you have the option to archive it immediately. However, if you do so by accident, you would usually have the option to undo it. For a couple of seconds after you press Archive, the undo option will pop up before the notification disappears....

Firmware updates for Google’s Pixel buds have always been an automatic process with no user control. If your buds are connected and a new update is available, they automatically install it. This may be inconvenient at times as you can’t use the buds while an update is in process. Google wants to simplify this process by allowing users to manually install available updates when they want. The company was spotted working on manual updates for Pixel buds back in February....

So it’s clear that Google’s dominance in the maps business is unparalleled. The design of these two smartphones is not exactly a secret. Google revealed it when it shared renders of both devices a while back. Well, now the company is giving you a real-life look at the two devices, prior to their launch. Google is allegedly planning to launch both phones next month. They are expected to arrive on October 19, while the sales will begin on October 28. Do note that those are only rumored dates, for now....

The Pixel 6 is inferior to the Pixel 6 Pro, but the difference between the two, from the spec side of things, is not huge. Both phones are immensely powerful, and share the most important components. Before we get down to it, let’s just say that the Pixel 6 has a flat display, not a curved one, while it also has one less camera than its ‘Pro’ counterpart. Another difference you’ll notice are its bezels, which are thicker....

The biggest change that you’ll see on the Pixel 7 Pro is the camera bar. It’s still there, but now it’s metal, wrapped around the camera sensors. Making the cameras stand out a bit more. The frame and camera bar are now one piece of metal. So the real question here is whether the Pixel 7 Pro is worth spending $899 on or not? Well let’s find out in our full review....

The Pixel 7a may ship with a 90Hz display and wireless charging He managed to dig out some information about the phone. He said that the device will include a 90Hz display, up from the 60Hz panel on the Pixel 6a. In addition to that, wireless charging support will be added. That’s not all, though. He also touched upon the cameras. He spotted the ‘Pixel 22 Mid-range” info, which is here for the Pixel 7a....

Google, like some other companies out there, have two embargoes on these phones, so we are only able to talk about certain things for now. In this hands on, do not expect to hear about battery life (it hasn’t been long enough anyways), the camera, or software. That will all be in the full review in the very near future.
