The Pixel 6A will have a similar design to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
The Pixel 6a was leaked not too long ago, so we know that the design was basically copied and pasted from the Pixel 6 phones. It will still have the notable camera visor on the back, the punch hole on the front, and relatively thin bezels all around. The main difference will be in the size. According to rumors, this phone will come with a 6.2-inch display. This is slightly smaller than the 6.4-inch display on the Pixel 6. It’s still expected to be AMOLED, however, we’re not sure about the refresh rate. One thing that, sadly, won’t be different from the main Pixel 6 phones is the lack of the headphone jack. This will be the first Pixel a phone to come without a 3.5mm headphone jack.
What about the camera?
The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro both share the same 50-megapixel main camera along with the same 12-megapixel ultrawide camera. However, the Pixel 6a will have a different (and familiar) main camera sensor. According to an APK deep dive done by 9To5Google, the Pixel 6a will have a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor. If this sounds familiar, this is the same sensor that was used in previous Google Pixel phones including the Pixel 3, Pixel 4, and Pixel 5 phones (this includes those phones’ respective variants) This may come as a disappointment. One thing that made the Google Pixel a phones shine is the fact that they used the same camera sensors as their premium siblings. While the cameras that were in the Pixels of the past were nothing to sneeze at, people who really care about their photography will definitely see the downgrade. What’s fortunate is that the processor under the hood will be the same. You will be able to get the same top-level performance as you would with a main Pixel 6. You can also expect the version of Android to be the same. The Google Pixel 6a will launch sometime next year. If you want an even cheaper Pixel 6, the Pixel 6a just might be the one for you.
