According to the source, the Galaxy M54 will sport a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, unchanged from the Galaxy M53. The reported 90Hz refresh rate is a downgrade over the current model’s 120Hz refresh rate, though. The screen will employ the same punch-hole tech for housing the selfie camera, which could have an unchanged resolution at 32MP. On the back of the Galaxy M54 will reportedly be a 64MP primary camera. Once again, it’s a resolution downgrade from the 108MP unit found on the Galaxy M53. However, image quality isn’t just about megapixels. So, as long as Samsung has improved its camera software and algorithms, a 64MP camera should be pretty good. We should get up to 4k video recording here. Flanking the primary camera is a 12MP ultrawide lens and a third 5MP camera. The latter could be a macro unit, with Samsung seemingly removing the depth sensor. A similar trend has been reported on the Galaxy A54 as well: three lenses with a lower-resolution primary shooter. The company would do well to offer OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) on the Galaxy M54. One less camera may allow Samsung to pack a bigger battery on the Galaxy M54. We will, reportedly, get a 6,000mAh battery, though it will still be limited to 25W charging speeds. The Korean firm has been bucking the industry trend when it comes to smartphone charging speed. It needs to go up a notch or two soon or it may fall massively behind the competition.
The Galaxy M54 will reportedly get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor
Samsung will reportedly ship the Galaxy M54 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. By the time the phone arrives, the processor would already be more than two generations old. However, since it is a flagship solution, it remains pretty capable even two years later. The Korean firm will pair the chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage options. The handset will also support micro SD cards for expandable storage. The rest of the stuff may not change much from the Galaxy M53, including the design, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and more. The Galaxy M54 may cost a little over ten million Vietnamese dongs (approx. USD 410). At that price, it would be a pretty compelling proposition. The phone may debut at the end of this year or early next year. We will keep you posted.
