As of this writing, the Galaxy Fold LTE is receiving the new update in Colombia, France, and Panama. The rollout should expand to more countries in the coming days. The updated firmware version for the phone is F900FXXS6HVC8. The Galaxy Note10 Lite, on the other hand, is receiving the April SMR in France, SamMobile has confirmed. This update should also reach other regions soon. The new firmware version for this affordable S Pen wielding Galaxy flagship is N770FXXU8GVD5. The Galaxy Fold LTE and Galaxy Note10 Lite are picking up more than 80 vulnerability fixes with the latest update. The majority of these vulnerabilities were found in Google’s version of Android. But we have 33 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items as well. SVEs are security issues that only affect the Korean brand’s Android-powered smartphones and tablets. Among the vulnerabilities patched with the April SMR is the Dirty Pipe vulnerability that affected the Galaxy S22 and Pixel 6 series smartphones. It allowed a remote attacker to take full control of your phone by gaining system-level access to it. One of the SVEs patched also allowed remote code execution. Note that neither phone is receiving new features with this update. They recently picked up the One UI 4.1 update with tons of goodies. The latest software package is all about security fixes, and possibly some system stability improvements.

April security update reaches more Galaxy smartphones

Samsung began rolling out the April security patch to its devices in the last week of March. The Galaxy S22 series received the new SMR first. Over the past three weeks, dozens of other Galaxy smartphones have picked up the latest security update. The Galaxy Fold LTE and Galaxy Note10 Lite are the latest to join the party. If you’re using either of these two phones and haven’t yet received the April security update, you should be receiving it in the coming days. Your phone should notify you of the OTA (over the air) rollout once available. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping on Download and install. If there’s no update available, check back again later.
