As of this writing, the Galaxy A53 5G is receiving the Android 13 update in Europe. The new firmware version for the phone is A536BXXU4BVJG (via). The rollout should cover entre Europe over the next few days and also expand to global markets, including the US. The device isn’t getting the latest, November security patch with this release. It remains on the October SMR (Security Maintenance Release). But we aren’t complaining as this update has plenty of other interesting things. The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 brings a minor UI redesign to Galaxy devices. Samsung has tweaked some UI elements, made app icons bolder, and improved system animations for a smoother and more pleasing user experience. The company has also added a bunch of new features and customization options and improved existing features and apps to give users more functionality. The new One UI version gives you better control over your privacy and security as well, ensuring peace of mind. As usual, Samsung will roll out the Android 13 update for the Galaxy A53 5G in batches. Some users will receive the new software package ahead of others. But rest assured, everyone will get in within the next few days, at least in Europe. Be on the lookout for a notification about the OTA (over-the-air) release. You can also manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update on your phone and tapping on Download and install. If you don’t see any pending OTA updates, wait for a few days. Note that the OTA package is almost 2GB in size. We recommend downloading the update over an unmetered Wi-Fi connection.
Samsung will soon update more Galaxy devices to Android 13
As said earlier, the Galaxy A53 5G joins the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, and Galaxy Note 20 series in Samsung’s Android 13 party. The company will continue to update its Galaxy devices to the new Android version. It has yet to touch its foldable lineup as well as tablets. We expect some of the latest models to get the update this month, with more to follow in December and subsequent months. We will keep you posted.
