The Galaxy M13 and Galaxy M23 5G are initially picking up Android 13 in Europe. The update comes with firmware versions M135FXXU1BVL2 and M236BXXU1BVK5, respectively. A wider release covering units in other parts of the world should follow in the coming days. This update brings a host of new features and improvements to the two budget smartphones. We have all the latest goodies that are part and parcel of Android 13. On top of this, Samsung offers several add-ons and tweaks with its One UI 5.0 custom software. Starting with notable visual changes, the app icons are now bolder and feature subtle gradient backgrounds. The Korean firm has also made system animations smoother for a seamless transition between pages when navigating through the device. Thanks to the improved Color Palette, you can now better apply wallpaper colors to your phone’s UI elements. You also get more customization options, which can now be accessed directly from the lockscreen. As for new features, there are plenty of them across various stock apps and services, including the Camera, Bixby Routines, Gallery, Photo Editor, AR Emoji, Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Internet, and more. Samsung has also improved the accessibility, privacy, and security of Galaxy devices. And speaking of security, the Galaxy M13 and Galaxy M23 5G are getting a new security patch as well. Both models make the jump to the December SMR (Security Maintenance Release).

More Galaxy smartphones join Samsun’s Android 13 party

Samsung began rolling out Android 13 to its devices in late October. Less than two months into the rollout, the company has updated more than 50 Galaxy smartphones and tablets to the new Android version. It is now quickly sweeping through the remaining few. If you’re using the Galaxy M13 or the Galaxy M23 5G, the Android 13 -based One UI 5.0 update should be available to you soon. Since updates are released in batches, it may take a few days for everyone to get this release. But it’s only a matter of time now. You can check for updates from the Settings app. Go to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install. You may also get a notification once the update is available for your Galaxy smartphone.
