Other than the lack of microphones, the Roam SL is the exact same as the Roam speaker. That includes up to 10 hours of continuous playback here, and it can last for around 10 days on standby. This is one of the few Bluetooth speakers that Sonos has released, and that is because it is portable. Similar to the regular Roam, the Roam SL is also now dust proof and fully waterproof. It comes with a IP67 rating. The same tactile buttons from the Roam are available here, making it easier to change the volume, skip songs and even turn the volume completely off. The Roam SL can be paired with another Roam SL for a stereo setup via WiFi. You can also set it up with other Sonos speakers around your home for a stereo setup too. That’s one thing that Sonos does very well, the multi-audio experience. And we’d say it is done better than virtually everyone else on the market.
Sonos Roam SL now available for pre-order
Pre-orders for the new Sonos Roam SL are now open via its website. And it’ll be available elsewhere on March 15. The Sonos Roam SL comes in two colors: Shadow Black and Lunar White. Which match the colors of its other speakers. Sonos does this so that you can have your speakers matching each other, and keep them from standing out in your home, depending on your interior design skills. When we reviewed the Sonos Roam, we had great things to say about it, and those should apply here to the SL model. Since it is basically the same speaker, minus the microphones.
