People in the US, Canada, The UK, etc. can use Spotify video podcasts
A lot of podcasts are audio-only shows that you can listen to in your spare time, but some creators want to go the extra mile and add in a video element. This is something that Spotify has been testing for a bit. Now that this testing is finished, the company decided to bring it to some key markets. Now, according to the company, folks in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and The UK can upload video podcasts. Also according to the company, uploading a video podcast is just as easy as uploading an audio podcast.
How to upload a video podcast
When you upload video podcasts to Spotify is done through Anchor which is Spotify’s proprietary podcasting platform. If you’re new, you’re going to need to set up a new Anchor account. Once you’re logged in, you’ll be able to start uploading your content. On the top bar, you’ll see the “New Episode” button. Click it and go to the Quick Upload button. When you select that option, you’ll be able to browse your computer and select the file you want to upload. After that, it will take you to a new page where you can start to define the episode. You’ll put in the title of the episode and the description. Under those options, you have the option to add a poll to the podcast that you want your fans to answer. If you want to ask a question without the multiple-choice format, you can use the Q&A option below that. What’s neat about this screen is that you can actually preview the audio of your podcast up top. You’ll be able to make sure that the audio is right and that you uploaded the right file. If you’re new to Anchor, you’ll then set up your podcast by giving it a name, description, and cover art. After that, your new episode should be up and running on the platform.
