The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic Thom Browne Edition will be a limited run device. Which means it won’t be available widely like the standard Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Classic. Much like past versions of the collaboration, the watch will only be available in smaller quantities. Just like the Thom Browne Editions of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 that were launched earlier this year. Samsung also plans to keep sales limited to its own online store. With the price of the watch set at $799, and a launch date of September 29.

If you’re wondering why Samsung is charging so much for this version of its latest smartwatch, it’s not entirely because of the Thom Browne name. That’s certainly part of it. As collaborating with a well-known luxury brand can certainly help a product command a higher price tag. However, it’s more than that with this watch. This version of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is rhodium plated. Rhodium is exceedingly rare, and incredibly valuable because it’s more rare than any other precious metal in the world. It’s also highly resistant to corrosion, hypoallergenic, and highly reflective. Making it a favorite among jewelers.
The watch comes with some extras
In addition to the rhodium plating, the watch comes with three unique straps. You’ll get one rubber strap, one leather strap, and one fabric strap. So you have one to cover your bases for just about every occasion. Essentially the rubber strap for exercise, the leather strap for more formal attire, and the fabric strap as a more casual option. Though you can certainly wear any one of them anytime you want. The watch also comes pre-installed with 5 Thom Browne watch faces. You can even customize things further by changing out watch hands, backgrounds, and indexes. Samsung is only selling the watch in the 42mm size. So if you prefer the larger watch case, the Thom Browne Edition may not be for you. It’s also only available in the Bluetooth model and won’t be sold in an LTE variant.
