So, apart from regular security updates, Galaxy S21 devices are also in line to pick up Android 12 and Android 13-based One UI updates as well. The August 2021 security update is incremental, as expected
The Galaxy S21 August update is purely incremental in nature. Meaning, apart from general bug fixes and improvements in device performance and stability, it doesn’t bring any new features to the table. Notably, as per SamMobile, users in Canada are also receiving the August security update. Moreover, the firmware version is also the same as the US unlocked variants. As usual, the update is rolling out via OTA in batches. Meaning it won’t be straight away available for every US unlocked Galaxy S21 model. However, if you are eligible to receive the update but haven’t received the update notification, then you can check for it manually. To do that, head over to Settings -> Software Update and hit the ‘Download and Install’ button. With the biggest Galaxy Unpacked event just a few hours away from us, it is time to get excited about new Samsung products. Based on the rumors floating on the internet, we will witness the launch of new versions of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip devices. Additionally, Samsung may also introduce the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Buds 2, the actual images of which are already circulating on the internet. The Galaxy Watch 4 will be the first smartwatch to feature Wear OS 3.0, developed by Google in collaboration with Samsung.
