The Ulefone Armor X8i is an altered version of the Armor X8

Ulefone is well-known for its rugged phones, and many of them have large batteries. Now, if the Armor X8i looks familiar to you, there’s a good reason for it. This phone looks the same as the Armor X8. Ulefone did change some things on the hardware (internals) and software side of things. This phone is fueled by the Helio P22 SoC from MediaTek. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, though you can expand that storage with a microSD card (up to 256GB). A 5.7-inch display is included on the phone as well, while you’ll find three cameras on the back of this phone. A 13-megapixel main camera leads the package. A single 8-megapixel camera can be found on the phone’s front side. A fingerprint scanner is included on the phone, while the device can also scan your face. It does not use advanced facial scanning tech, though so keep that in mind. It uses its front-facing camera to do that, which is something most OEMs do.

The phone is both water and dust resistant

You will find an NFC chip inside of this phone, and also quad navigation systems. The phone supports dual VoLTE 4G, and it is water and dust resistant thanks to IP68/IP69K rating. Android 11 comes pre-installed on the phone, and Ulefone didn’t mess around with stock Android too much. You will find some additions by the company on top of Android 11, though. As you can see, the company’s logo sits on the back of the phone, right below its triple camera setup, and a fingerprint scanner. That fingerprint scanner sits right below the phone’s vertically aligned cameras, on the back. The phone does look like it can take a hit, and considering that it offers the same outer hardware as the Armor X8, well that proves that it can. The phone doesn’t look half bad for a rugged smartphone. Ulefone didn’t mention anything about the device’s availability, but it will become available soon.
