In case you didn’t know, computer maker Lenovo owns Motorola, and the two companies have done some pretty great things together. All of the phones they produced follow Motorola’s branding and design aesthetic. However, this new phone looks to be more inspired by Lenovo than Motorola.
The ThinkPhone by Motorola leak shows us an interesting-looking device
It seems that Lenovo wants to break into the smartphone business, and it charged Motorola with the task of its first smartphone. Looking at the promotional material, we see some interesting traits of this phone. For starters, and probably the most notable feature, we have the faux-carbon fiber material on the back. This is the same material that Lenovo uses on its ThinkPad devices Looking at the camera package, we see three sensors housed inside a glass module. The glass module itself looks pretty rounded, and that will almost remind you of a Motorola phone. Turning to the front, we see a phone with a rather large display with rather small bezels. For the selfie camera, we have a punch hole front and center. On the left side of the phone, we see a distinct red button that almost appears to be textured. At this point, we’re not sure if that’s the power button or some other button with special functionality.
What are the rumored specs?
Right now, we don’t have any official specs for the device, but there have been some promising leaks. For starters, that large display is expected to be 6.6 inches long and have a resolution of 1080 x 2400. This might be a really nice-looking display because we expect it to be OLED, have a refresh way to 144Hz, and be HDR compatible. As for the processor, rumor has it that this phone will use Qualcomm’s 2021 processor the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Obviously, this isn’t the company’s most advanced chip but it is still an extremely powerful chip. You will still get amazing performance. This is expected to be backed up by 8GB/12GB of RAM and 512GB of on-board storage. Moving on to the cameras, this phone is expected to have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. As for the selfie camera, we’re looking at 32 megapixels. There’s no word on when this phone is coming out or how much money it will cost when it launches. However, there may be a chance that we’ll see it during CES next year.
