The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have a massive rear camera module, as this poster shows

As you can see in the image provided above, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have a massive camera island on the back. Its camera island will be round, and contain three cameras, it seems, as yesterday’s spec leak hinted. You will notice that one of those cameras is a periscope telephoto unit, and that a dual LED flash is also included on the back. Another tidbit that this poster shows is the Leica branding, as Leica’s lenses will be a part of the package. At the top of this camera module, you’ll notice that 120X zoom will be enabled. That will be possible thanks to that periscope telephoto camera which is not included in the Xiaomi 12 Pro. As most of you know, the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro launched globally earlier this month, several months after their debut in China. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra didn’t launch yet at all, not even in Xiaomi’s homeland.

The device could launch in May with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+

The device is rumored to arrive in May, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ aka TSMC’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. That chip is expected to offer better thermals, and better performance overall. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will also feature a 6.73-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That will be an LTPO 2.0 display, and it will be curved. A 4,900mAh battery was also mentioned, and the same goes for 120W wired charging. 50W wireless charging will likely be included too. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. Android 12 will come pre-installed, alongside MIUI 13. You can also expected to get stereo speakers here, perhaps even four of them, tuned by Harman Kardon. The device will also be IP68 certified, and include a display camera hole.
