This phone is codenamed “Psyche”, and one would assume it would be called the Xiaomi 12 SE or 12 Mini. Well, according to Kacper Skrzypek, a tipster, Xiaomi will go a different route and call it the Xiaomi 12X. That tipster also shared some information about the device, spec info. Based on his information, this smartphone is not for India. It will likely launch in China, and in various other global markets.
The Xiaomi 12X is coming with a compact body, 120Hz display, and more.
The phone is said to feature a 6.28-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 870 SoC will fuel this phone, so it will be quite powerful, even though the Snapdragon 888 won’t be included. Now, this device will be quite compact. It will allegedly be 145.4mm tall, and 65.4mm wide. That is considerably smaller than today’s flagships, and it’s nice to see Xiaomi is thinking of other types of users. What’s interesting is that the Chinese variant of this phone already surfaced on TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC). The phone appeared with the model number 2112123AC. That listing revealed that 67W charging will be supported, and it also confirmed the Snapdragon 870 SoC.
An audio jack may be included
The phone is also said to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, an optical one. On top of that, a 3.5mm headphone jack will likely be included as well. That’s everything we know about it thus far. This phone will likely be made out of metal and glass, and follow the expected design guidelines. We’re expecting it to include really thin bezels, and a display camera hole which will likely be centered. The Xiaomi 12X will probably launch alongside the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Ultra in December. Do note that the Xiaomi 12 Pro and 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition were also rumored. Those two phones may be exclusive to China, though, we’ll see.
