The Xiaomi 13 has a different design than its ‘Pro’ sibling
The Xiaomi 13 comes with a different design than its sibling. It is noticeable they are related, mainly due to the rear camera island design, and some other tidbits. Unlike the ‘Pro’ variant, however, the Xiaomi 13 has flat sides all around, a flat display, and its back is also flatter than the ‘Pro’ model’s. This handset has extremely thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. Its physical keys are placed on the right-hand side, while the phone comes in both glass back and vegan leather back variants. Xiaomi decided to include a 6.36-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display here. That is Samsung’s E6 panel, so Xiaomi basically picked up the best of the best. This display can project HDR10+ content, and it offers a 120Hz refresh rate. 240Hz touch sampling rate is also supported, and this panel gets up to 1,900 nits of peak brightness. Dolby Vision is also supported.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels the phone, while a large liquid cooling area is included
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC fuels this smartphone, the best Qualcomm has to offer. Xiaomi also included a 4,642mm2 large VC liquid cooling area here, mainly for gaming purposes. You’ll also find 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5X RAM here, along with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. There are also two SIM card slots included (2x nano SIM), while Android 13 comes pre-installed. Xiaomi’s brand new MIUI 14 skin is included on top of Google’s operating system. A 4,500mAh battery can be found on the inside of this phone. 67W wired charging is supported here, and the charger is included in the package. A 50W wireless charging is also supported, as is 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 13 is IP68 certified, which is an upgrade compared to the Xiaomi 12
The Xiaomi 13 is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phone supports 5G connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner, and an infrared sensor as well. A 50-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX800 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, Hyper OIS) main camera sits on the back. A 12-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree FoV) is also included here, as is a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.0 aperture, 3.2x optical zoom, OIS). On the front, you’ll find a 32-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0 aperture).
The phone comes in four color options, and a number of limited custom color variants
The Xiaomi 13 comes in White, Black, Flora Green, and Mountain Blue color options. There are also limited custom color editions on offer, which you can check out below this paragraph. Those colors are Flame Red, Sapphire Blue, Hurricane Yellow, Jungle Green, and Cement Gray. The Xiaomi 13 measures 152.8 x 71.5 x 7.98mm in its glass variants. The vegan leather model is a bit thicker at 8.1mm. The glass model weighs 189 grams, while the vegan leather variant weighs 185 grams. The Xiaomi 13 will be coming to global markets, alongside its ‘Pro’ sibling. We’re not sure when exactly will they launch, but we’re guessing in early 2023. Xiaomi’s CEO did promise more information is coming soon, though.
