The Xiaomi 13 Pro features a curved display with thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. The phone has a square camera island on the back, with three cameras included, and Leica lenses as well.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in both ceramic and vegan leather models
Both ceramic back and vegan leather models have been announced. Do note that the phone did launch in China, and we’re not sure if the vegan leather model will make its way to global markets. Unlike the Xiaomi 13, the Xiaomi 13 Pro does not have flat sides. Its backplate does curve into the frame, as it does on most high-end smartphones out there. This makes the phone’s front side symmetrical with its back side. There’s a lot to talk about here, spec-wise. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is one of the most powerful smartphones on the market, essentially. It features a 6.73-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) QHD+ display. This is Samsung’s E6 AMOLED panel. It supports HDR10+ content, and can change the refresh rate as needed between 1 and 120Hz. It also offers a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,920Hz PWM dimming. This display also gets quite bright at 1,900 nits of peak brightness. Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus protects it.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 fuels the phone, Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC fuels this smartphone, while Xiaomi included 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5X RAM here. On top of that, you can choose between 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. Android 13 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with MIUI 14. Two SIM card slots are also included in the package, by the way. The phone does support 5G (SA/NSA), and offers Bluetooth 5.2 support. A 4,820mAh battery is included in the package, and 120W wired charging is supported. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Xiaomi included a 1-inch camera sensor on the back
The camera setup is especially interesting. This handset features a 50-megapixel 1-inch main camera sensor, Sony’s IMX989 unit, the same one included in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. It has an f/1.9 aperture lens, and Hyper OIS support. On top of that, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (115-degree FoV, f/2.2 aperture) is also included, as is a 50-megapixel telephoto unit (3.2x optical zoom, f/2.0 aperture, 10cm focus distance, OIS).
The phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, unlike its predecessor
There is an in-display fingerprint scanner included here too, and the same goes for an infrared sensor. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phone’s ceramic model measures 162.9 x 74.6 x 8.38mm. The vegan leather model is a bit thicker at 8.7mm. The ceramic model weighs 229 grams, while the vegan leather model is lighter at 210 grams. The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes in Ceramic White, Ceramic Black, Flora Green (Ceramic), and Mountain Blue colors. The phone’s pricing starts at CNY4,999 ($718), and goes up to CNY6,299 ($905) in China. It will be more expensive globally.
