The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 was announced back in October last year, and made available in November. The launch date for the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 flagship did leak, but that’s not all the info that appeared.
108-megapixel camera in tow?
Now, rumors are claiming that the Mi MIX 4 will be the first phone to feature a 108-megapixel camera sensor. We’re talking about Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, of course. That camera sensor was announced last month, and Xiaomi did confirm that it plans to introduce at least one phone featuring such a camera. That 108-megapixel camera sensor is considered to be more of a mid-range offering, so it will be interesting to see if the Mi MIX 4 will sport it. At first, we thought that the Mi MIX 4 may use it as a secondary camera, or something of the sort. We’re not really sure, the question is if it will be included on that phone at all. In addition to that 108-megapixel camera, the Mi MIX 4 is also expected to feature 16 and 12-megapixel units. That 16-megapixel camera will come with an ultrawide camera lens, while a 12-megapixel unit will be a telephoto camera. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will arrive in both 4G and 5G variants, that’s for sure. The 5G model may arrive a bit later, though, not at the same time as the 4G variant. The device is rumored to include 12GB of RAM, and will almost certainly be fueled by the Snapdragon 855 Plus.
Android 10 to come pre-installed with MIUI 11
Android 10 will come pre-installed on the Mi MIX 4, while MIUI 11 is expected to come pre-installed on it. The question is if Xiaomi will be able to prepare MIUI 11 in time for this launch. Some rumors are even suggesting that it will be announced at the same time as the Mi MIX 4. Xiaomi has a habit of announcing new MIUI versions during separate events. That’s why we’re not so sure it will arrive at the same time as the Mi MIX 4. As far as the phone’s design is concerned, well, we don’t really have much info at the moment. The latest rumor that surfaced claims that the phone will not feature a sliding mechanism, which is to be expected. It is safe to assume that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will sport extremely thin bezels, and a large display. It remains to be seen if the company will utilize a pop-up camera, or a display camera hole here, though. An under-display selfie camera is a possibility, but it may be unrealistic to expect such tech this year.
