MiGu Headband uses electroencephalogram technology to read and translate brainwaves. According to developers, the headband can measure brain waves at three points and then analyze the signals through software. In the end, brain waves can become commands through mapping the EEG waveforms and using machine learning. The developer group says the headband can be used for controlling Xiaomi’s smart home products or even detecting user fatigue. The idea behind the MiGu Headband seems revolutionary. But the question is who wants to carry a headband to issue commands to digital devices. Voice assistants are already doing the same thing. Of course, those suffering from Aphasia and mobility impairment can find this headband very useful. The Xiaomi MiGu Headband is just a prototype by a group of creative engineers, and the company is not yet working on it. However, its mind-reading technology can have various uses in increasing drivers’ safety by analyzing their brains and preventing them from falling asleep while driving. Xiaomi currently has a long list of creative devices that remained as prototypes and never found their way to the market, including Mijia AR glasses and Cyberdog.
